Man killed in suspected suicide blast in Fujian

FUZHOU, July 1(Xinhuanet)-- A man was killed in a blast, which was suspected to be a suicide attempt, early Friday morning in east China's Fujian Province, local police said.

The blast occurred on an overbridge at the crossroad of Guping Road and Yeshan Road in Fuzhou, provincial capital of Fujian, at about 3:30 am. The man died on the spot.

The blast damaged the guardrails of the bridge, nearby billboards and traffic lights, police said. Nearby traffic was resumed after the scene was cleared.

Police believed that the blast was a suicide attempt after initial analysis. The case is still under investigation. Enditem
