Ship collision causes oil spill in NE China, no casualty reported

DALIAN, July 2(Xinhuanet)-- A Chinese tank ship spilled oil after it collided with a foreign flag container vessel off Dalian port in northeast China's Liaoning Province on Saturday morning. No casualty is reported.

The accident occurred at 11:30 am about five nautical miles from Dalian's Xingang(New Port), according to the Liaoning provincial maritime rescue center.

The center organized emergency rescue work immediately and sent vessels to clean the polluted areas. The rescue operation is still going on.

The cause of the accident is being investigated. Enditem
