Bus accident kills 1, injures 22 in Zhejiang

HANGZHOU, June 3(Xinhuanet)-- A tourist bus carrying teachers from Shanghai collided with a car in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang province Sunday, killing one driver and injuring 22 others and two of them seriously, said local traffic police.

At 10:20 a.m. Sunday, a tourist bus collided with a car head-onwhen it was speeding on a highway at the section within the boundaries of Hangzhou, killing the driver of the car on the spot.

Three others from the car and 19 tourists from the bus were injured and rushed to local hospital for emergency treatment, the police source said.

After the road crash occurred, the local relevant departments include the public security, communications and hospitals,immediately set up a team to cope with the accident and organized the rescue work.

The accident-hit bus was bound for the pecturesque Huangshan Mountain, a famous tourist resort in east China's Anhui province, which carried a 26-member tourist group from the Pudong District of Shanghai, mainly comprising teachers, students and their families of the Luxing Middle School of Pudong.
