BEIJING, July 4-- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has met separately with his Vietnamese, Lao and Myanmar counterparts in China's south-western city of Kunming.
The prime ministers of the four nations in Kunming met Monday morning before attending the second summit of the Greater Mekong Sub-region Economic Cooperation Program.
Wen Jiabao said during the separate meetings that China supports Vietnam¡¦s bid to enter the World Trade Organization, and encourage enterprises to open and conduct business in Laos.
Wen Jiabao also gave hope that Myanmar could achieve long-term stability.
Regarding the Mekong River basin, Wen Jiabao expressed confidence about the future regional cooperation, adding China will continue to seek friendly cooperation with its neighboring countries.
The three prime ministers thanked China for preparing the summit.
The second summit of the Greater Mekong Sub-region Economic Cooperation Program opens Tuesday in Kunming. The first summit was held in Cambodia¡¦s capital, Phnom Penh, in 2002.
