Xinhua president vows to promote media co-op with Sierra Leone

BEIJING, July 4(Xinhuanet)-- Tian Congming, president of the Xinhua News Agency, China's biggest state-owned wire service, said Monday that Xinhua will step up its cooperation with media organizations in Sierra leone in a bid to promote the mutual understanding of the people of the two countries.

Tian made the remarks during his meeting with Minister of Information and Broadcasting Septimus Kai Kai of Sierra Leone, a Western Africa country, in Beijing.

Septimus Kai Kai said that Sierra Leone and China maintain sound and friendly relations and he hopes that news media in the two countries can further enhance cooperation on human source training, technology and management.

Septimus Kai Kai and his party were invited by the Information Office of the State Council, the Chinese central government, to visit China. Enditem
