Earthquake hits Heilongjiang

DAQING, July 26 (Xinhuanet) -- An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale shook Lindian county in Daqing city, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province Monday night, according to China State Seismological Bureau.

The quake occurred at 11:43 pm Monday, with no casualty report from local government till the report was released.

The quake was centered at 46.9 degree north latitude, 125.0 degree east longitude, 33 kilometers north of Daqing city and about 180 km away from the provincial capital of Harbin, the bureau said.

People living in Daqing, Qiqihar, and Harbin felt the quake, according to local government sources.
