BEIJING, Oct. 25(Xinhuanet)-- Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held talks here Tuesday with Vuk Draskovic, Foreign Minister of Serbia and Montenegro.

Li said that the peoples of the two countries have profound traditional friendship. And the political mutual trust between the two countries has been strengthened constantly with expanding cooperation in various fields.

The Chinese side felt satisfied with the active development of the relations between the two countries, and wishes to further tap the potential in the bilateral cooperation and enhance the bilateral ties, Li said.

Li said that the Chinese side appreciates the government of Serbia and Montenegro for its adherence to the one-China policy, and understands and respects its efforts towards European integration.

The Chinese Foreign Minister wishes that Serbia and Montenegro will achieve new progress in the construction of the country.

Vuk Draskovic said that China is witnessing growing economic development and expanding roles in the international affairs, adding that his country attaches importance to the development of mutual ties and will firmly adheres to the one-China policy.

He expressed thanks to China for its principled stand on the Kosovo issue and wishes to promote mutual beneficial cooperation in various fields.

The two foreign ministers exchanged views on the issues of common concern including the regional situation and the reform of UN Security Council and reached wide-range consensus. Enditem
