Incidence of flu stable in China

BEIJING, Nov. 11(Xinhuanet)-- The incidence of flu in China so far this year is stable, and actually a little lower compared with the same period in 2004, according to a health official.

Shu Yuelong, director of the national influenza center under the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the statistics were based on information collected from 198 hospitals across China every day.

Yang Weizhong, another official with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, confirmed the information on a different occasion.
