BEIJING, Nov. 12(Xinhuanet)-- China issued a series of postage stamps commemorating the 2008 Olympic Games on Saturday, one day after the 1,000-day countdown to the event's opening ceremony.

The stamps, six in a set, feature the 2008 Olympic emblem--"Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing" and the five doll mascots, which were unveiled Friday evening at a grand ceremony in the Chinese capital.

Each of the stamps has a face value of 0.8 yuan(about 0.1 US dollar).

They are the first commemorative Olympic stamps China issued since Beijing won the right to host the 2008 Games in July 2001. Enditem
