Shanxi urged to boost sustainable economy

TAIYUAN, Nov. 12(Xinhuanet)-- Chinese Vice-Premier Zeng Peiyan urged China's major coal-producing province of Shanxi to turn its economy to a sustainable development track.

During his inspection of the province from Thursday through Friday, Zeng expressed his appreciation of Shanxi's contribution to China's economic achievements and urged the province to develop a recycling economy.

Zeng stressed that Shanxi, which boasts rich resources and favourable industry infrastructure, should speed up industrial restructuring in accordance with the requirement of building a resource efficient and environment-friendly society.
