China confirms new human case of bird flu

BEIJING, Nov. 23(Xinhuanet)-- China's Ministry of Health on Wednesday confirmed another human case of bird flu in east China's Anhui Province.

This is the third confirmed human case of bird flu reported in China.

A 35-year-old woman farmer surnamed Xu in Xiuning County of Anhui developed fever and pneumonia-like symptoms on Nov. 11 after contacts with sick and dead poultry. She died on Nov. 22.

Tests of the woman was H5N1 positive, said China's Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Enditem
