Govt to speed up placement service for demobilized soldiers

BEIJING, Jan. 3(Xinhuanet)-- Chinese government will speed up placement service for the demobilized soldiers in 2006, according to Ministry of Civil Affairs.

In 2005, China set a number of regulations and rules to make placements for the demobilized soldiers and upgrade the ex-servicemen's living standard,

The central government allocated 17.5 billion yuan for the retired soldiers or military officers' subsidies in 2005, up 8.4 billion yuan or 92 percent year-on-year, government statistics said. Enditem
