Nanchang builds World's highest Ferris wheel

NANCHANG, Jan. 4(Xinhuanet)-- The construction of the world's tallest Ferris wheel was completed in Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province on Monday afternoon, beating the former tallest by 25 meters.

The 160-meter wheel has a diameter of 153 meters and will be the city's highest public viewpoint. It will take about 30 minutes' ride to finish a cycle.

The Ferris wheel is equipped with state-of-the-art gondolas and will be located in a riverside park covering an area of 700,000 square meters, which opened four days ago.

The former world record holder,"London Eye", also named"Millennium Wheel", was built by British Airways to celebrate the new millennium. Enditem
