BEIJING, Jan. 11(Xinhuanet)-- The Chinese public showed the most concern over the social mood, security and education in 2005, according to a official survey on Tuesday. The survey showed that 18.5 percent of those sampled had concerns about the social mood, or the general social atmosphere, 0.3 percentage points down compared with the that in 2004. The people were highly concerned about social security make 17.5 percent, 0.4 points up, and 16 percent of those surveyed showed concern about education, 1.4 points up, said the survey conducted by National Bureau of Statistics(NBS). Social mood, security and education constituted top three concerns of Chinese people in 2005, according to the survey. Meanwhile, 15.4 percent of the people surveyed cared most for their employment problems and 12.6 percent of them were concerned about corruption problem, the survey acknowledged. Another 5.8 percent of people turn their attention to environmental protection and 4.4 percent of them worried about their housing. NBS conducted the survey among 104,207 families in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in late October last year.
