Fire kills nine in residential building in Fujian

FUZHOU, April 8(Xinhua)-- A residential building caught fire early Saturday morning, leaving nine people killed and at least four injured in Longhai City of east China's Fujian Province.

The dead included six grown-ups and three children. The injured were sent to hospital for medical treatment.

The building was a four-storey reinforced concrete one and was rented to migrant workers working nearby. Witnesses said about 100 people were living inside.

The accident occurred at about 3:00 a.m. at Lubian Village in Yancuo Town. Firemen rushed to the site in ten minutes and put out the fire in about an hour.
