HANGZHOU, July 1 (Xinhua) -- General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Laotian President Choummaly Sayasone visited Chinese eastern province of Zhejiang, the final leg of his one-week state visit to China

Xi Jinping, secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with Choummaly on Saturday night in Hangzhou, capital city of the province.

Xi briefed the guest on the economic, cultural and social development of Zhejiang, expressing his belief that Choummaly's China tour will help boost the friendly and cooperative cooperation in various fields between China, especially Zhejiang Province, and Laos.

Choummaly extended his congratulations to the 85th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, highlighting that Zhejiang has successfully mobilized all types of economic and social powers to foster the province's economic development in the reform process.

"I'm very much impressed by the achievement made by Zhejiang and all these experiences are worth studying by Laos", Choummaly said.

He also expressed his hope that, by the joint efforts of the two sides, the all-round cooperative relations between Laos and Zhejiang will continue to grow.

Choummaly arrived in Zhejiang on Friday night. He also visited two private Chinese companies in Wenzhou City. Enditem
