HONG KONG, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) price will rise about 14 cents per liter in August, Hong Kong Electrical & Mechanical Services Department said on Friday.

According to a government press release, the prices at the LPG stations will be revised to range from 2.89 to 3.26 Hong Kong dollars for a liter.

Ceiling prices are adjusted according to a specified pricing formula that has two elements -- the LPG international price and LPG operating price, the press release said.

The former is the LPG international price of the preceding month, while the latter is adjusted on the first day of February yearly according to the movement in the Composite Consumer Price Index in the previous year. Enditem
