BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Jia Qinglin said Monday that China will expand all-round cooperation with Laos and push forward bilateral ties to new heights.

Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks in a meeting with Sisavath Keobounphanh, chairman of Lao Front for National Reconstruction.

Jia affirmed the increasing political trust and trade cooperation between China and Laos, saying "the relations between the two countries set a good example for mutual respect and neighborly friendship."

"China highly values China-Laos ties and will push forward bilateral comprehensive cooperation to bring more tangible benefits to the two peoples," Jia added.

Jia also suggested that the CPPCC and Lao Front for National Reconstruction further enhance exchanges and cooperation to contribute to the friendship between the two countries.

Sisavath, who is in Beijing for a week-long good-will visit, expressed his hope that the CPPCC and Lao Front for National Reconstruction will strengthen cooperation in various fields to facilitate relations.

Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, briefed Sisavath on the party-to-party relations between the two nations.

"The relations between the CPC and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (PRP) have enjoyed sound development in recent years, which has injected new vitality into the growth of China-Laos relationship," Li said in a meeting with Sisavath.

Li said the CPC is ready to further enhance the friendly cooperative relations with the PRP, in an effort to push for the all-round growth of China-Laos relations.

Sisavath expressed appreciation for China's help and assistance to Laos, believing that the Laos-China friendship will achieve further progress.

Wang Zhongyu, vice chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, also met with Sisavath on Monday. Enditem
