BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao attended the opening of the Third National Joint Art Performance of Ethnic Groups in this national capital on Tuesday.

Also present were Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Zeng Qinghong, Li Changchun and Luo Gan.

An evening party entitled "Harmonious China" was held in the Great Hall of the People in central Beijing, with over 1,000 minority artists performing dances and songs.
