BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- China supported international community's efforts in easing the current situation in Darfur in Sudan, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang said here Thursday.

Qin said that China had different understanding towards sending peacekeeping forces to the region.

"But China does not profit from this but for the purpose of better maintaining the region's peace and stability and promoting the reconciliation of the country," Qin said.

"We call on all relevant parties to properly handle the disputes by consultation and dialogue, and China will also make positive contribution to this end," Qin said. Enditem
