Czech president visits China to promote economic cooperation

XI'AN Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Czech President Vaclav Klaus arrived in the ancient Chinese capital of Xi'an in northwestern Shaanxi province on Wednesday, starting a three-day visit to China.

Leading a delegation of 25 Czech entrepreneurs, Klaus said he hoped to step up economic cooperation with China through the visit.

The president attended a conference between Chinese and Czech enterprises on Wednesday. Addressing the opening ceremony, Klaus said he hoped entrepreneurs from the Czech Republic could find partners in China.

The Czech Republic attached great importance to trade relations with China and it was believed cooperation would develop quickly, Klaus said.

In 2005, China has become the Czech Republic's 10th largest trading partner and the largest in Asia. Enditem
