Senior Chinese military officer arrives in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Liang Guanglie, chief of general staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, arrived here on Saturday night on the first stop of his goodwill Asia tour.

He is expected to meet King Sihamoni, Prime Minister Hun Sen and Deputy Prime Minister and Co-Minister of Defense Tea Banh, and attend the inauguration ceremony for a military hospital's clinic building.

Liang was invited by Ke Kim Yan, commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.

He will leave for Laos on Tuesday.

The Asia tour will also take Liang to Myanmar and Thailand. Enditem
