BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao's speech commemorating the 140th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's birth, published by the People's Publishing House, went on sale Monday across the country.

Hu, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, delivered the speech at a gathering to mark Sun's 140th birth anniversary here on Sunday.

Dr. Sun, forerunner of China's democratic revolution, was born in 1866 in Xiangshan County (now Zhongshan City) in south China's Guangdong Province and died of illness in Beijing (then called Beiping) on March 12, 1925.
