Expressway pileups kill 11 in E China

HEFEI, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Eleven people were killed on Sunday in six separate accidents caused by heavy fog involving 26 vehicles on an expressway in east China's Anhui Province, local police said.

The accidents, taking place between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. near Anhui's Bengbu City, also left about 30 other people injured, including three seriously.

All the injured people have been hospitalized and the expressway have been re-opened to traffic, police said.
