Gov't departments to respond to lawmakers' suggestions

BEIJING, March 27 (Xinhua) -- A total of 5,523 suggestions raised by deputies during the fifth session of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC), China's parliament, have been given to government departments for response.

Sheng Huaren, vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, said on Tuesday that the number of suggestions raised during this year's session reached 6,091.

"We transferred 5,523 suggestions to relevant departments for response and 568 suggestions were given to government departments for reference," Sheng said.

Issues such as medical system reform, food safety, Internet bar management, clean energy and environment protection would be given priority, Sheng said.
