STOCKHOLM, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao concluded his three-day state visit to Sweden and left Stockholm on Sunday for Beijing.

During his visit, President Hu met Swedish King Carl XVI Gustafand Parliament Speaker Per Westerberg, and had talks with Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.

Hu reviewed with Swedish leaders progress made in the friendly cooperation between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic ties 57 years ago, explored new ways to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and exchanged views on major international and regional issues of mutual interest.

The two countries signed a number of cooperation documents.

On Saturday, President Hu and the Swedish king attended a ceremony for the return of the replica of Gotheborg from a China voyage.

Only hours ago, the Chinese leader made an important speech at a welcome dinner hosted by the Sweden-China Trade Council on Sunday evening. He pledged to make joint efforts with Sweden leaders to increase business contacts and economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Before his trip to Sweden, President Hu attended the outreach session of Group of Eight (G8) summit in Heiligendamm, northern Germany.
