Xiamen mayor to visit Dakar

DAKAR, July 3 (Xinhua) -- A delegation from the southern Chinese city of Xiamen, is expected in Dakar, capital of Senegal, a statement published Tuesday by the city of Dakar announced.

Following the exchange of correspondence between Pape Diop, Dakar's deputy mayor and Xiamen's mayor, a high-level delegation from the Chinese city is set to visit Dakar from July 13 to July 15, 2007, according to the statement.

The visit has been meticulously planned by the chancelleries of the two countries, according to the same source.

The city of Dakar is expecting much from Xiamen, its sister city, with a view to launching a wider cooperation between the two cities covering various fields such as the economy, sports, culture, communication, urban housing and education, according the same source.
