MEXICO CITY, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Gu Xiulian, vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC),or top legislature, is wrapping up her official and goodwill visit to Grenada, news from St.Georges, the capital of the country reported on Monday. During her visit from July 7 to 9, Gu met with senior Grenadan officials, including Governor-General Daniel Williams, Prime Minister Keith Mitchell, President of the Senate Kenny Lalsingh, House of Representatives Speaker Lawrence Joseph. They exchanged in-depth views on bilateral relations and on how to further strengthen cooperation in various fields. Officials from the two countries agreed that the cooperation in trade, tourism, news, culture and education has yield achievements since the two countries restored diplomatic ties two and half years ago, and the two nations have been increasingly supporting each other and working together on international and regional affairs. During the talks, Grenadan senior officials stressed that it would keep its promise to abide by the one-China policy, as it's the foundation of bilateral political relations. They hope China will realize unification at an earlier date. Gu Xiulian is paying a four-nation visit to Dominica, Grenada, Guyana and Argentina from July 4 to 18.
