Prime minister: Singapore supports one-China policy

SINGAPORE, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said here Sunday that his country supports the one-China policy and opposes "Taiwan independence."

Lee made clear Singapore's position on the Taiwan issue while holding talks with visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, who arrived here Sunday for an official visit.

"We have discussed the cross-straits situation," Lee told a press briefing after the talks. "We supports the one-China policy and opposes 'Taiwan Independence.'

Lee said Singapore's policy on the Taiwan issue will not change.
