Chinese premier vows to strengthen strategic partnership with ASEAN

SINGAPORE, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao vowed here Tuesday to strengthen China's strategic partnership with ASEAN.

Wen, in a speech at the 11th China-ASEAN Summit, said China will work with ASEAN in five priority areas to strengthen their strategic partnership and elevate their win-win relations and common development to a new height.

-- First, enhance political trust and policy coordination.

-- Second, upgrade business ties and cooperation.

-- Third, carry out practical cooperation in non-traditional security fields.

-- Fourth, give strong support to the development of the ASEAN Community and integration.

-- Fifth, expand social, cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
