YINCHUAN, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- A collision between two vehicles amid poor visibility killed four people and injured nine others in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on Monday morning, local traffic police said.

A van and a sedan bumped into each other on a highway near the regional capital of Yinchuan at about 10:25 a.m., killing two people instantly, said Ma Baoping, a traffic policeman in Yinchuan's Xixia District.

Another two people died in hospital following emergency operations, while nine others were still being treated.

Heavy fog, which reduced visibility to less than 20 meters, was blamed for the accident, Ma said.
