DAKAR, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's efforts to boost its cultural exchange and cooperation with Senegal has pushed the friendship between the two countries to a new high, said Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade here Monday.
He made the remarks when meeting with a Chinese cultural delegation led by Chinese Vice Cultural Minister Chang Keren.
Since the two countries resumed their diplomatic ties two years ago, their cooperation has witnessed an all-round development, Wade said.
The cultural exchanges between the two countries have been fruitful, he said, noting the construction of a grand opera hall, aided by China, will begin soon in this Senegalese capital, and describing the hall as a symbol of friendship between the two countries.
China's help is sincere and is appreciated by Senegal, said the president.
Chang, on his part, said China will continue its efforts to boost the friendship with Senegal.
The Chinese cultural delegation arrived here Saturday for a three-day visit at the invitation of the Cultural Ministry of Senegal.
