All-China Federation of Returned Chinese elects new leader

BEIJING, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Lin Jun was elected chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Chinese (ACFRC) at the Fifth Plenary Session of the Seventh ACFRC National Committee here on Friday.

After giving a work report, former Chairman Lin Zhaoshu resigned at the meeting. Li Benjun also resigned as a deputy chairman and the secretary general. Both were appointed ACFRC advisors.

At the meeting, the participants pledged to further study and implement the essence of October's 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) that set targets for the future development of the country.

The ACFRC will unite overseas Chinese and mobilize local branches of the organization to help introduce funds and talented people from abroad.

Moreover, the federation pledged to contribute to China's development in political, cultural and economic fields, the reunification of the nation and friendly exchanges with people of other nations, according to the meeting.

At the meeting, Chen Youqing was elected a deputy chairman of the ACFRC and Dong Zhongyuan a deputy chairman and the secretary general.
