BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Beijing traffic authorities expected a 10-percent annual growth in the city's automobile number in the coming years, according to a municipal traffic conference held on Sunday.
The city has registered 3.13 million motor vehicles, and more than 400,000 new automobiles began to run on the roads of Beijing in 2006. The increment for 2007 is not available.
The city's traffic authorities said the number of private cars would not be limited in the capital despite increasing traffic congestions. On the other hand, the road network would be improved with the construction of more overpasses.
