Public health deaths total 515

The Ministry of Health has reported 515 deaths in public health incidents in China last year, up 17.8 percent on 2006.
More than 98,250 people were involved in 2,552 incidents in 2007, down 31.9 and 7.7 percent.
The ministry attributed the rising death toll to a higher number of food poisoning and environmental pollution cases.
