BEIJING, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League (CCYL) has issued an emergency circular urging its local organizations at different levels to do everything possible to help areas plagued by heavy snow this month.
The circular said CCYL organizations in affected areas should organize rescue teams or volunteers to assist local relief efforts in various forms.
Members of the All-China Youth Federation, young entrepreneurs and young well-off people should contribute money and goods to the affected areas, it said.
CCYL members and cadres should go into the front of the anti-disaster battles and try to find out what the affected areas and affected young people need.
Since Jan. 12, heavy snow and freezing rain have hit 14 provincial areas in the central and eastern parts of the country resulting in dozens of deaths, huge property loss and enormous difficulties to life, production and transport in affected areas.
