Chairman of Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly meets Luo Haocai

JAKARTA, Feb. 21, (Xinhua) -- Chairman of Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Hidayat Nur Wahid met Luo Haocai, visiting Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), here on Thursday.

Hidayat said the development of economy and democracy in China left prominent impression on his mind when he visited the country in September 2007. He hoped Luo's visit would deepen cooperation and exchange between the two countries' parliaments.

Luo thanked MPR's hospitality on his visit. He praised the implementation of new Nationality Law of Indonesia on 2006, which eliminates discriminatory articles on minorities.

Invited by MPR, Luo arrived in Indonesia on Feb.17 for a week long visit. He met with Indonesian parliament speaker Agung Laksono on Tuesday and would fly to Medan, capital of North Sumatra Province later Thursday to go on visit.
