NANNING, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- A south China forestry policeman shot his boss in the head after he was redeployed in a department reshuffle and refused a new posting, says a member of the investigation team.
The findings of the investigation into the shooting on Feb. 17 in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were reported after the regional forestry police bureau reported that two senior police officials had been sacked.
Qin Yuexiang, head of the Xing'an county forestry bureau of Guangxi, was still in a coma on Monday after being shot in his office by Li Xueming.
Earlier in the day of the shooting incident, Li had been suspended from police duties in a reshuffle that saw Xing'an county forestry police bureau, part of Xing'an county forestry bureau, cut police numbers from 19 to 18, said Feng Yuan, a senior county official in charge of politics and law affairs.
At that time, Qin had refused Li's request for a new post at the county forestry bureau and Li alleged that Qin Yuexiang had made trouble for him.
Li used to be deputy head of Xing'an county forestry police bureau, but had been demoted to an ordinary policeman for threatening others with his gun during quarrels, said Jiang Yuliang, an official with the county's Communist Party committee.
Deng Xinrong, head of the Xing'an county forestry police bureau, and Zhang Lianwu, the political instructor, were dismissed for negligence in their duty to supervise police gun controls.
Guo Yanzhou, political commissar of the Guilin municipal forestry police bureau, and Li Tao, a policeman responsible for gun registration, were given demerits. Municipal bureau chief Tang Donghong was admonished.
