One dead, two missing after boat sank in E China

HANGZHOU, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- One person was found dead and two were still missing after a boat sank off China's east coast, sources with the Zhejiang Provincial Maritime Bureau said on Tuesday.

A cargo ship with six crew on board sank off Zhejiang's Zhoushan City at 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the provincial maritime bureau.

Staff from the Zhejiang Provincial Maritime Rescue Center found a life raft containing four people off the Cezi Island, of whom one was dead. The other three were rescued and sent to a nearby hospital.

The ship, heading from Shanghai to Ningbo, belongs to Shengsishengxing Ocean Shipping Co. Ltd of Zhoushan, an island city on the East China Sea.

In all, nine ship are searching for the two missing crew on the scene and a helicopter is also in use.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
