Chinese defense minister meets Swiss guest

BEIJING, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan met here on Tuesday with Markus Seiler, secretary general of the Federal Department of Defence of Switzerland.
Cao, also vice chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor, praised the current relations between China and Switzerland.
He said China valued the special role of Switzerland in the international affairs, and appreciated its adherence to one-China policy and opposition to the "Taiwan independence".
Cao vowed to further develop the relationship between the two countries and armed forces.
Seiler said Switzerland hoped to strengthen cooperation with China to cement friendly ties between the two nations.
