Chinese senior leader urges greater efforts for press publication quality

BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese leader urges greater efforts to be made to improve the quality of the country's press publications here on Wednesday.

Xu Jialu, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee made the remarks when attending the government-sponsored awarding ceremony for press publications.

Attending the ceremony were State Councilor Chen Zhili and Li Meng, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

100 publications, 50 publishers and 50 individuals won the triennium award, China's highest-profile prize of its kind.

The award covers items including books, video products, on-line publications and publication designs. In addition, 200 excellent publications won nomination prize.
