FUZHOU, March 4 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese court has given the death penalty with a two-year reprieve to Yue Shengli, former board chairman of Fujian Construction Engineering Group Company for taking bribes, a court statement said on Tuesday.
When Wang was head of the Fujian Provincial Road Administration Bureau and board chairman of Fujian Construction Engineering Group Company from 1996 to 2006, he had taken bribes worth 9.89 million yuan (1.4 million U.S. dollars), according to Nanping Intermediate People's Court on Tuesday.
He has also taken the post of deputy general manager of Fujian Highway Co. Ltd and deputy head of the provincial communications department before he was discipline in August 2006.
