All parties keep in contacts on Korean Peninsula nuclear issue

BEIJING, March 4 (Xinhua) -- All parties involved in the six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue have been keeping in contacts in various manners, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang here Tuesday.

Top U.S. nuclear negotiator Christopher Hill and his counterpart from China Wu Dawei met in Beijing on Saturday, exchanging views on current situation in six-party talks.

When asked to make comments on the absence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Qin told a regular press conference that the place and date for the concerned parties to confer with each other was only a kind of form.

The parties concerned had always made consultations in various forms since the beginning of the six-party talks, Qin said, noting that China always holds open attitudes toward these helpful contacts.
