CHONGQING, March 11 (Xinhua)-- A crash between a passenger ship and a cargo vessel in China's southwest Chongqing Municipality killed three people and left one missing on Monday, a local maritime source said on Tuesday.
Two others were also seriously injured.
The accident happened on the Wu River in Changshou District at 8 p.m. when a passenger ship from the suburban Fuling District crashed with the cargo ship "Minsheng", according to the municipal maritime bureau.
Nine boats participated in the rescue effort. The search continued for the missing person.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
