Traffic accident kills Hong Kong volunteer in north China

HOHHOT, May 6 (Xinhua) -- A Hong Kong person was killed and three others seriously injured after their bus overturned in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Tuesday, the local authority said.

A total of 18 people, including 13 Hong Kong citizens and a Briton, were onboard the tour bus when it overturned on a highway in Siziwang Banner at about 11 a.m.

The Hong Kong passengers are volunteers with a poverty-relief organization. They were returning to Hohhot, the region's capital city, after finishing a mission in Xilingol League.

The victim, surnamed Tao, is 26 years old.

The Briton received slight injuries in the accident.

The injured have no life-threatening injuries and are in stable conditions, according to medical staff.
