DPRK paper blasts attempts to politicize Beijing Olympics

PYONGYANG, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Attempts by some Western politicians to politicize the Beijing Olympic Games are against the Olympic Charter and ideals and are opposed by peace-loving people all over the world, the official Minju Joson daily said Wednesday.

Everyone knows that the Tibet issue is the internal affairs of China, said an article carried by the newspaper of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The riots in Lhasa in March were vehemently condemned by the international community and the measures taken by the Chinese government were supported by many countries, the article said.

With the truth of the Lhasa riots released, the evil attempts by some Western politicians to sabotage the Beijing Olympic Games have been laid bare, it added.
