SINA opens online registration platform for adoption offers

The magnitude 8.0 earthquake struck southwest China's Sichuan Province at 2:28 pm, May 12, 2008, leaving tens of thousands dead and countless homeless. It is estimated that several thousands of children were orphaned, the exact number still to be investigated. Many sympathizing people home and abroad have expressed their kindly offer to adopt the orphans and provide loving homes for them.

To assist those caring people, as well as to help the bereft kids finding new families, SINA has launched this convenient platform for potential adoptive parents to submit their wishes. The information received via the platform will be submitted to relevant government organs in China and will be kept in strict confidence.

Please be noted that SINA is not involved in anyway in the process of adoption and the relevant government organs will directly contact the hopeful adoptive parents.
