20,000 tents urgently needed to reopen classes in Gansu

LANZHOU, May 22-- According to the latest statistic data from Gansu Education Office, the number of schools damaged in May 12 earthquake rises to 6335. Of which, 2964 from Longnan and 416 from Gannan. Till now, 846 of the 2964 schools in Longnan have reopenned classes but most of the students have to attend classes in tents. Dining and accommodation of these students become big concerns. To ensure all the schools affected can reopen classes, 20,000 tents are urgently needed, China News Online reports.
