Earthquake death toll in Sichuan alone rises to 55,239

BEIJING, May 23 - At a press conference this morning, vice governor of Sichuan Province Li Chengyun announced that the quake death toll in Sichuan alone reached 55,239, with 281,066 injured and 24,949 missing, according to CCTV.
