Wenchuan County suffers ruinous loss

SICHUAN May 26- The loss of Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province is ruinous, according to its county magistrate. It is estimated that 10,000 out of 12,000 Wenchuan villagers were killed. 60% farmlands and almost all vegetation were destroyed. The highway from Chengdu City to Wenchuan which cost 3.1 billion RMB was totally smashed into pieces. The magistrate also said that it will take at least 5-10 years to rebuild the mountainous county, Nanfang Daily reported.
